Discipline Policy

The goal of any necessary “discipline or guidance” at the center is to promote life-long self-control and self-discipline in children. In the context of early childhood education settings, discipline and guidance techniques take the form of creating an environment that is secure, predictable, and meets the developmental needs of the child.

By creating a variety of engaging activities, we strive to prevent classroom problems. When difficulties do occur, we utilize supportive and fair discipline techniques that include helping children acknowledge the behavior, redirection, offering choices about the solution, and accepting the consequences. Limits are fair and based on safety, responsibility, and respect.

Serious behavior problems will be discussed in a meeting with the Program Director, parents, and the teacher.
